Didn’t quite meet my albeit high expectations for this cigar. Blackbird is very legit, the blend seems very unique as does the story, and the price point is impressive. All that being said, this cigar smoked like an Alec Bradley short filler cigar not in a good way. Got a lot of smoke rolling off the foot of the cigar, was a bit waxy. Very open draw with not a tremendous amount of smoke. Cigar went out on me halfway through (I had properly tempered it to my climate) granted this does happen sometimes inevitably. Flavors were again somewhat odd. Started strong with a nice crisp edge to the retro – hale. This quickly faded out, never to return again. Retro was very mellow, not bringing anything new to the party that the aroma hadn’t already provided. Tremendous amount of Corn Tortilla chip, slight red berry, some generic wood (to be expected) and a slight vanilla on the top end of the aroma. Mouth flavor never fully realized. Nothing to delineate between aroma, retro, mouth flavor. At times though, a very good and unique roasty, nuttiness presented but was inconsistent and fleeting. Will inevitably rebate this cigar as I have 2. I would love nothing more than to appreciate the potential of this cigar and I will update my review accordingy.
